Default Fullerton Loop

The "Mighty Fully Loop" gave many of us our first taste of dirt. Great for locals and newbies.

Did a quick lap this evening, entire trail is in fine shape. Ate it dropping the stairs at Gilbert/Rosecrans and tweaked the rear der., resulting in major chainsuck. Luckily it was rush hour, so there were hundreds of witnesses. Yay. The section along the RR tracks under Harbor has been groomed and the landslide damage completely removed.

Cool whoah big snake on the loop.

Just want to share a nice encounter I had on the loop yeturday b/4 the party!! I was doing the side trail by the fence line before u get to the water tank. It was right before the steps or ladder thingie. It was a little late to stop so once I saw the thing passed it safely but came back to take a pic and to help it out of the trail so no one else would get hit by it after me he he. Plus they wont run it over either!! make a note that these things are running up there

sorry about the lame pic but my phone sucks!!

Went to ride this morning and it was destroyed, plowed and had glass everywhere. Police were giving citations left and right.

Cool Big O Coyote under the Tunnel

Last night did a quick run b/c I forgot my light so was riding on the dark on the last part behind San Jude! When I got to the tunnel after the golf course run into this huge freaking coyote that scared da crap out of me!! THis is the 3rd time i run into this dood and it looks bigger now. Big warning that he hangs in this area! be a little extra carefull.

btw some one did some nice work on the trail and made it les bumpy than usual.

Detour down the slope was a little slippery.
Rode the Loop myself this evening. Saw the sign and blew right past it. Thing is marking paint on a scrap of OSB, and seemed more like a convenience placed by and for the construction crew than an official closure. The sign itself was the only thing blocking the trail, at least for now--trail beyond is as it has been. When they get to the actual building of the fence, though, who knows? Hopefully they'll stick to the easement requirements, unlike the owners of the block wall OTHRIDER mentioned. Still not sure how they got away with that one.

Watch out. As of 9/11/07 around 9AM, some jackass decided to dig a hole by the tree on the trail that dumps into the parking lot by the lake on Clarion Dr.

Thanks for the heads up. That hole appears practically every other week it seems. Would be cool if we could install a webcam or something around there.

just spoke with another teacher here at school who lives near the loop.....says she has tripped in some of the holes in the past and even caught kids digging holes while parents watched. was told that it looked like the kids were digging the holes to make the dirt into ramps.....sounds fishy?! Does anyone have the park ranger number?!

apparently tree vandals as well in the area........WTF!

The wet spots on the Loop are starting to dry up. Still gotta watch out for deep water ruts on the downhill section before Euclid. Also, a few weeks ago, after the rain, there was a small lake on the trail next to the rail road tracks before the golf course, I had to ride the tracks for about 50 yards, needless to say, hated it.
Road the same section yesterday and the water has dried up, but there are still some soft muddy parts there. Just a heads up!

Happy riding!
