Over the Hill

I rode it once years back, nothing to write home about but worth checking out. New dirt is always worth it.

Riley is a GREAT ride if you want to take your kids out. I take my 9 yr old daughter there all the time. It's about a 2.5 mile loop with some nice singletrack mixed in. There are a couple of hills and descents that the kiddos may need to walk, but the ST will make it worth your while. Don't miss the Horned Toad ST...I have my daughter wait for me on the main fireroad while I loop it...takes a couple of minutes but its fun. If your kid can climb a bit, take them with you on Horned Toad. Riley is not really a destination in and of itself, but take the kids and you'll really enjoy it.
The other thing Riley is known for is wildlife...there's a resident herd of deer that live there so keep your eyes open and camera ready. Have fun!

Not all that great of a ride, but very pretty in there. One of the very first hikes my boys ever went on. I think they were about 6 an 8 at the time. Started another 20 years of hiking.

While Riley isn't really a destination. It can be done in conjunction with the Coto - West Ridge Trail and Chiquito Ridge Trails to make for a pretty good loop.

Pretty small park that didn't have anything all that great. It was very nice to look at and I did see a group of deer and plenty of cat tracks though.

That's exactly how I include Riley. Not much by itself but putting in the middle of Coto and Chiquita (or Ladera Ridge) routes makes for a rather varied and fun loop.
