Trailwork Lower Holy Jim

In preparation for the upcoming Pow Wow(VQ/CC), I along with others members of the WS went up Holy Jim yesterday to fix a few areas of concern on Holy Jim, mainly the switchbacks to shore them up and fill in some ruts so if we get anymore rain from now till the Pow Wow, it won't be an issue. Most of the trail is great shape, we installed a few grade stablizers, filled in a few ruts and added drainage along the trial for the water to flow off the trail.

Lots off hikers out as well as riders going up. We only incountered a few riders on their way down, from talking to a few riders climbing, seems the favorite route for the day was HJ to Trabuco. I was a nice day for a hike, but I wish I had my new bike once we were done so I could ride down. Still hasn't seen dirt. Oh well, here are some of the pics I took.

How are the creek crossings looking? Pretty full still?

Thanks. The creeks a full. All have logs or stones place so one can cross without getting their feet wet, but somehow you'll manage to get at least one foot wet. The manmade crossings are flowing pretty good. Here are pics from the last ride through there. Pretty much the same.

Kudos to y'all warrior's for getting this kind of trailwork done, and especially thanks from those of us getting ready for cc and vq next month! I know the last thing i want to be thinking about at mile 45 is being surprised by a newly rutted section or falling in the creek...

....Thank you Gene and all the other WS members who worked on Holy Jim on Sunday. You guys put so much work into keeping our beautiful trails maintained. It's a tremendous sacrifice not only for you to give up a beautiful day to ride, but a day to train for the event you are preparing the trails for.

Thanks Vickie. The trail and switchbacks are in great shape. I wish I rode up with my bike, but I was carrying a pick. Upper HJ still has one section that needs some attention, but there is suppose to be a crew to take care of that by this weekend.
