Yup, it's open. Their ranger station phone recording confirmed it. Rode at lunch. Mostly dry (yet tacky). Several muddy puddles that you'll need to go around. I just rode slower and tried not to track through the mud and leave ruts. My bike isn't used to having a light coating of mud, though.

Oh, and Foo's entrance at the MILF park is thrashed.

Did you ride meadows? That typically gets rutted and dries out slowly.

Thanks

Yep it was open. MILF park is indeed thrashed. I walked my bike thru that part and over the gulley.

Cholla is not bad at all....then the usual puddle on the fire road just after.

Rockit has some puddles you can ride around on the fireroads before and after the rocks. The ST's are pretty much OK...

Mathis has some fairly severe ruts where the steep part is at the bottom. Then the usual puddles on the flat spots toward the top.

Coyote is not bad at all, with just a couple that you can ride around...

I left no ruts and only had to get off twice.... It's very tacky..

I did not ride Meadows, but agree with the Monkey. Last time I climbed it after it opened, it was still bad in a couple of spots near the top, even when trying to walk around it. Ended up digging the Crap(mud) outta my stuff...

What's really interesting is the horse tracks (holes) after the last rain; I saw the rangers filling them in on the mathis connector from Coyote; They didn't seem happy...Some of them were 4-6 inches deep!

Good Luck all....

I was out at Aliso today too. I rode Meadows and was suprised that it was in great shape. A good size rut in a one section but it wasn't muddy.

This evening rode Laguna Wilderness from Dartmore Street (North Laguna) to Nix Center and back. Picked my bike up and walked around 4 muddy spots. Stagecoach is in good shape, but in a few spots it needs the lower lip removed as water is starting to dish the trail and cause a rut down the middle. Some of the switcbacks need some attention. Good fun very ridable.

I hear ya man.... the section on the fire road past cholla, down the fire road may be the worst rut of all and that fire road in general has some foilage tunnels which seem to take a while to dry out; those darn hills are bleeding water...

I use to just bunny hop over the drain but I popped a coulple of tires doing that

cuz i'm a bit clumsy...

I rode Rock-it after work yesterday. It was in good shape (drying wise), except the top had been trashed by some irresponsible deer. Hoof marks everywhere.

Don't those deer understand that when the park is closed, STAY OFF THE TRAILS!

Wink This had got to stop!

I understand that not only are the deer out trampling on muddy trails before the park even opens... they are out at night poaching illegal trails... we've got to put an end to this right now....

I heard a rumor you can eat deer!? It taste like chicken....

When is bow season?

...just kidding, please don't send animal rights posts as it might offend my
Yorktese who is still trying to bag his first bird....

Actually, I love the deer and it's pretty special when you see one early in the morning when you are riding alone; you can see the steam coming outta their noses...
