Mammoth area still good to ride.

Winter will be a late arrival this year in the eastern sierras. The temps are winter-like, but the snow level now is about what I've seen in June or July in a typical year. Basically none, except where they are making snow on the mountain.

We rode lower rock creek down to paradise yesterday and trail conditions were absolutely perfect. No shuttle so the ride back up the hill was a burner. Only saw one other rider on the trail. But it was very cold so layers are a must.

If you are heading up here in the near future (obviously check the weather), don't hesitate to bring the MTB too.
