I've used a couple of different tripods...

    The Gorillapod and the Ultrapod.
Gorillapod is very flexible, but it's got it's limitations. Very expensive for what it is (plastic, cheap). It's OK for light cameras like a GoPro.

I prefer the Ultrpod. It's not as flexible, but packs small and has a handy velcro strap. You can strap it to trees, branches, bike, etc.

Anybody using the larger Ultrapod II ? (7" long when folded)
Looks like it will be sturdier than the smaller (4") Ultrapod I or mini, and probably a better clearance from ground.
For GoPro and POS with occasional SLR, I amlooking for a small tripod for touring trips (will carry it probavbly in the handlebr pennier)
Any specific reason NOT to get the II Vs the I ?
    TIA
