Excellent choice. I hope you have as much fun as I do riding the road. Try to find a club to ride with. It will challenge you more and you'll progress faster then if you ride alone. But either way, it's in the right direction. Good luck with the CC.

I don't know how much road riding I'll do after CC. I guess I'll have to wait and see how I like it.

I really must give big props to BJammin for hooking me up with the Campy Chorus parts and Mavic Open Pro wheels AND building it up for me. You rock dude.

Keep up the road riding even after CC. Once you hit dirt, you won't believe your leg power, and your stamina/endurance will go through the roof.

I've been doing that since high school for non-cycling related reasons, so I'm already halfway there.

or is it or maybe

Almost everyone who is fast in CC rides a road bike. You'll see big improvements.

Ride single on the road too!

I was riding last week and a commuter rode past me on PCH. I passed him back at the apex of the hill going into Sunset Beach and then left him behind on the downhill.
Road riding is definitely helping with my CC training.

Nice bike Pac!

PS-Like Mechmann said - Never trust people in cars!

Yes, that's mine. 1970 Gitane. I found the frame on Ebay.
Its a blast to ride. The steel is real (comfy).
I am going to start doing some commuting on it too.
