Anyone who does this, post up your time here. It's approximatly 9 miles, and the timer starts past the Shell Station, after the second light and ends at Clear Creek (the first bathrooms/turnoff up the Crest)
Some of my faster friends have pulled in the low 40's and high 30's.... ...but the real action starts in February, when everyone is going to be in peak form for road season. A friend of mine whom I've recently had the privelege of training with and being coached by, says that he can probably pull it off in 30 minutes. That's averaging almost 20mph for the entire climb, which is incredible. Shaving 8 minutes off the time of the local fast guys on a 9 mile climb may seem impossible, but I have faith that it will happen. So, I'll dig up all my friends times, and if any of you guys are in the area, set your computer and go for it, and make sure to let us know what you come up with. |

Cops told me far more motorcycles eat shiat then anyone else. I'm interested in this, but I'd have to start riding road more and climbing. 30 minutes has got to be pro level.

As long as he's on a bike I'm happy... road or dirt is good with me.
My friends raced with him before he got hit with the ban. One of them was a teammate before he moved to the Postal Service Team and another raced with him more recently during the Tour or California and other races. Both of them say he's a really nice guy and a great cyclist, but none of them give their opinion on if he doped or not. The last thing they want is "Well [insert name here] said Landis was doping, and he's a pro so it must be true." to come back and bite them in the ass. The cycling community is small, and nobody wants to make unsubstantiated claims (other than the race officials and directors, of course) |

What you have more road time than anyone else I know.
Say it ain't so Mike. Back to the dirt...that's crazy talk. Actually I rode dirt this week. Went up and down Lower Sam on Monday evening after work. Good times!

Half of the stuff you find at GNC is on the banned list of substances with the UCI so in my mind I don't care.
Never met him but from what I can see, he needs public speaking advice from a better supporting entourage. The way his case was handled in the American media was way too weak and that seemed to hurt the sport here. Armstrong kind of brought America to the plate in the sport. This debacle that just happened just made people believe that Armstrong was doping all along. Armstrong also handled his accusers much more professionally and I think the majority of the people bought it. With all the technology and money that was thrown at Armstrong, he had to have been coached in speaking to the media. Landis was just hung out to dry when this all started and seemed like he had nobody to help him through. Sad story in American Cycling. But rumor has it that he rides Harding up and down in less than 50 minutes. I say Landis won the race fair and square.
