So far, this is what it will be:
Frame/Fork: Specialized Tarmac Quickstep Edition Gruppo: Full Dura Ace (until I decide between Campy Record or Sram Force) Wheels: Reynolds Attack Carbon Bars: Ritchey WCS Carbon Stem: Ritchey WCS Aluminum Cranks: Undecided Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Pedals: Time Carbon I'm not sure what else I am going to use, I have almost everything I need for the build, and what I don't should be in transit. The bike will probably come in at around 15 or 16 lbs when it's done, but it will be pretty stiff, too, which is what I want. I will get pictures of the build up as soon as possible. |

Nice Jesse. Good seeing you today. Let's shoot for next week. The build sounds rad. My vote is for Campy.
Why? 1) It's Italian (right?) and your Italian and own an Italian restaurant 2) The nostalgia of Campy 3) I like how their cables route cleanly around the bars. Sorry no input on cranks. Can't wait to see it.

The new Sram Red is going to be amazing, but it's also going to be super expensive. Same thing with cranks, there are a lot of cranks that I like, but I don't feel like dropping $700 on em, haha. |

Hey Jesse, you're making me very jealous. I rode the Tarmac and I also rode the Roubaix, and I like the Roubaix more, but that might just be my riding style. The Tarmac is a little more stretched out and is definitely a race type of bike. I average 2 mph faster on the Specialized then what I did on a Cannondale system 6.
I was planning on getting a Colnago or a Pinarello, but after riding the Specialized it's going to be real hard to buy anything else.

My LBS sponsers me somewhat and they carry Felts, and I have to admit, they are a good bike, but not what I'm looking for. I like the Roubaix more.

These are damn sexy machines, but I'm gonna have to agree with Pain Freak about the Roubaix...
![]() ![]() The extra $5000+ I'd spend on the Prince will add little to my riding, but subtract much from my bank account. Besides, the difference will go towards my new Epic. |

If I had the money for a Prince, I would get one in a heartbeat. I think it's one of the most beautiful bikes out there.
As for Painfreak, you would be MUCH better off on the Robaix, since your main focus is long distance and a lot of mountains. My buddy races a Tarmac and trains on a Roubaix. It's just a much more comfortable, upright bike with a position that will be much more comfortable when you're in the saddle for long hours. Let us know what you get! |

Another nod here for the Roubaix. I love my Roubaix SL.
![]() The Tarmac has its place, but its not my style these days. Although I like my Force stuff (I don't have SRAM cranks or cassette), I wish the front derailleur had trim (like the Red will have). Heck, I wish I had some new trim. ![]()
