Throw some Dee's on it

hey all, i think its my first post in here.....
well i was out driving with my friend in his Z when i saw a red bike in front of some trash cans, ( score! ) drove back to my house, got my truck and went to get the bike.... picked it up drove it home. hoping it would be a good find . started cleaning it, put some air in the super old( probably late 70's or early 80's) tires and gave it a spin around the block..anyway...put some new michelin axial pro's on it to match, took off all of the 105 der.'s and cables...threw a dura-ace chain on it.. and cut the bars to bull-horn... true it amy be a bit small( measured it out to abouta 56cm) but its myt commuter for now.. im stoked on having a free bike!!!!!!!!!!!!

umm...free? Are you sure it wasn't anyone's bike? Are you sure the owner wasn't grabbing some dinner in one of the trash cans?
![]() Allison, I think he may have intentionally made the photos blury to give the bike that retro look. It's surely a sweet bike! My dad wants it back.

That's pretty cool. How come the only bikes I come across like that are rusted out pieces of Wal-Mart trash?

I'll have to post a pic of the only bike I've ever found a bit later (from home). But, I can tell you, it wasn't even as nice as a rusted out WalMart thingie

Awesome find! I love my fixie (Bianchi Pista). The fixie scene is pretty chill down here in SD. There's always alleycat rides on Fri. nites starting from the big fountain in Balboa Park and heading downtown into the harbor and on and on...
It's fun going from 6+ of squish one day then no brakes, no gears the next. |

That looks very similar to my dad's old Specialized lugged steel bike from 1998. I am in the process of fixing it up for him right now. Looks like a great bike. Should be fun!

Good find Ross. I'm always on the look out myself for bikes. I like to donate them. But that one looks like a keeper. I can see ss'ing, but like others have said, that fixie stuff will blow out your knees.
