Sean over at Surf City Cyclery (www.surfcitycyclery) made me a killer deal that I could not refuse. They have excellent customer service and really treated me great as always. I also went through a full professional fitment on the bike in their new fitment center. Never did that before! Also, decided on some Crank Bros pedals to break me into my first ever clipless pedal and shoe. Wanted something that would also work well on my mountain bike down the line should I leave the platforms behind one day. Cant recommend them enough. So I guess that means I will be alternating some rides soon enough still practicing getting in and out of these damn pedals!

Here is a pic!

Nice J, we'll have to do some riding soon. Just remember to clip out BEFORE you stop. It'll be embarassing falling on the street.

Jordan,

That bike is siiiick. I think it may be a step up from my bike, and I couldn't be happier with my bike so you've got to love yours. Let me know if you want to ride. I'm around the Irvine area and I've got another friend just starting out in road biking.

Congrats on the purchase! Beautiful bike.

Wow, no working your way up, you just go for it. Great bike and I mean great. Congrats on a ride you'll love for a long time.

I like the bike, I have been thinking of getting a roadie. If you like PM me and let me know how much you paid. Its funny I just started riding the clip in's as well and yesterday was my first real day of riding with them. its funny because I was at El Morro I was happy I only crashed once and fallen over once. When I fell over it was real funny I was laughing at myself I was just riding in circles real slow trying to get in the right gear.

No problem. I leave for Maui thursday so I will bring it by after I get back. So far I am really enjoying the double click system of the Rival group. Especially coming from all the mtn bike riding I have been doing.

Oh, you're the same allison from rbr! Howdy!

Jordan, awesome! I'm glad you got hooked up. Sorry the other deal didn't work out, but it was probably for the better. Also, glad you got the Expert.

RE: SRAM, I have the SRAM brifters on my bike...they're a bit different than the 9S D/A that I'm used to. Kind of hard to change habits (which is why I haven't changed to the newer Shimano Retard Rise on my mtb). I only have one ride on the SRAM stuff, but I'm fine with it. It is cool not seeing the shifter cables sticking out sideways from the levers.
