Default Ortega Hwy NIGHT RIDE?

Greetings Roadies,

Anyone interested in an Ortega Up and Back at night,
seeing there is limited traffic?

Does anyone drive this or can scout it to see if the closed lane is ridable?

Ortega Hwy. Closure

February 21, 2007

A safety improvement project has closed a 3.3 mile stretch of Ortega Highway from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for three years. The segment will be open during the day, but reduced to one lane that will alternate between eastbound and westbound traffic.

I talked to my girlfriend and she said the 3 miles that are under construction have alot of rocks and gravel in the road and the road itself is chewed up. The part that is under construction is near the bridge on the OC side.

I'm thinking about riding this at night. Either the Lake Elsinore side or the OC side...

There's basically no traffic after 8:30PM on the OC side, and I don't think it would be very busy on the Elsinore side(the steep side) either because of the closure.

Anyone up for giving it a try? Definitely bring your HID's/Trinewts and rear blinky.
