Friendly people and the cars were actually pretty tolerant of out little group.
BTW - there weren't that many fixies in the group, just a bunch of people who like to ride bikes. Wish there were more of us in the world.

I did a ride with this group a while back. Just not my cup'o tea. Many of the riders were not real friendly and kinda "click"ish.....especailly if you weren't on a fixie.

Don't care much for the mob mentality on these rides. Groups of riders blowing through stop signs and stop lights, cutting off cars, acting like they own the road.

I'll pass again next time.

Wow. It wasn't like that at all. Everyone was in great spirits and well mannered when a car came up behind.
We even let the train go in front of us.

As far as the ride report - We met and then toured the route as a group with Jesse pointing out the checkpoints. Every kind of bike from fixies, doublecrown singlespeeds, BMX, MTB, etc.
It was a trip being in a sea of flashing red taillights.
We ended at the traffic circle and then hung out for a couple of minutes while the volunteers got to the checkpoints.
It was fun. The spoke card had a map of the area on the back.
Great weather and easy to go fast after the tour warm-up.
Fastest loop and best hand won gift certificates from the Path and Switchback.
Best hand was a pair of jacks, ace high.

Here are a few pics:

Sorry to hear you had such a bad experience???
I ride with Jesse and crew quite a bit and have never experienced that, it's pretty much open arms to all on tires.....most of this same group rides Santiago Oaks every Saturday morning and we do pick on each other but we stay together and cheer each other on.
Sorry it wasn't your cup of tea....were you not on a fixie when you went?
