Sorry got a 300K brevet that day. I will likely head up there on an off Friday when traffic is lighter. I've been wanting to ride to Onyx Summit for a long time.

I can't believe it sold out so quickly. It said they had spots for 700 riders, in years past it was only 450ish. Wow. That's a whole lot of people that want to suffer...I wonder where we'll all park?

I was emailed it sold out in a couple hours. I guess when you claim to be the hardest century in the USA you'll get some takers. I had my heart set on doing this one again.

how's it compare to a GMR to 39 to wrightwood loop? My Garmin says the 39 loop is more elevation gain, but we all know how great garmin's are with elevation...

Here's an email that came through on the OCW Saturday Century list. Just email Chuck Bramwell to be added to the waiting list. I got in on the wait list a few years ago, I can't recall how close to the date I was notified though.

The 2010 Breathless Agony Century is sold out. Registration went smoother than ever with over 500 riders registering in the first hour!![Thanks for your support of this fun and challenging event!!

We have a Waiting List and there is a very good chance that we'll be able to add more riders so please send a note to Chuck Bramwell at CBrams@CalTripleCrown.com and he'll add you to the Waiting List. As slots become available for the Breathless Agony, Chuck will e-mail you so you can register for the ride through Active.com. Start training seriously now!!

If you are registered for the Breathless Agony but find that you won't be able to participate, you can help us by submitting a request for a Refund or Rollover as soon as possible so someone else will be able to register in your place. To request a Refund or Rollover, simply print the form with all of the details athttp://www.cyclingpros.com/Breathles...OrRollover.pdf

Another option would be for you to support the Breathless Agony on 5/01/10 by helping us with a Rest Stop or SAG support. This will then entitle you to ride the Worker’s Ride with us on 4/24/10 at no charge. Your ride result will be listed with the others on the Breathless Agony Web Site and if you complete all 4 Passes, you will qualify for that part of the "King of the Mountains" Century Challenge. The Worker's Ride on 4/24/10 will have minimal support. Let Chuck know if you’re interested in helping us with a Rest Stop or SAG Support on 5/01/10. We have lots of fun on the Breathless Agony!!

Mark your calendar: Registration for the 2011 Breathless Agony will open on Monday, 1/10/11 at 8:00 P.M. We will open registration at 8:00 at night in order to allow most riders to register from home so they won't have to do this at work and possibly be unable to register due to corporate firewalls.

We have lots of fun on the Breathless Agony and we truly appreciate everyone who helps out!!

Robert (Bossman) Kahler
Jill (Mr. Jill) Kahler
Chuck (Bramster) Bramwell
And The Breathless Agony Team

I imagine it's nothing like what you'll experience on the Breathless agony. If you want to experience half the suffering, then you could climb up the 39 to GMR, To GRR to baldy village and back. I do this ride all the time from Pasadena, it's hard. 90 miles, 7700 feet of climbing. But remember that coming back from baldy village is a cake walk. only 900 feet of climbing, so It's about 50 miles to Baldy village from Pasadena and 6800 feet of climbing, cause the 40 miles coming home are only 900 feet of climbing.

I think we're thinking of different 39 loops. I'm thinking going up GMR, down gmr to east fork, up 39 past crystal lake to the 2, 2 to wrightwood, and then down the 138 to the 15.

That's a 115 mile or so loop for me, my garmin said about 14k climbing.

anyway, I'm curious cause I told myself if I did something as stupid as that loop again.....

Ah, that is a good climb. I don't think you could get through to wrightwood until spring. I imgaine there would be ice and snow up there on those roads. I should try that climb, sounds like fun.

It's absolutely AMAZING. 39 is closed to cars that high up, which is nice, and the views of what you've climbed are inspiring. HIGHLY recommended. I know that caltrans does some plowing up there - when I went up 39 in may (maybe it was march??) there were clearly plowed sections, even in the crystal lake to 2 stretch.

I am in along with my husband and a friend. I did it as part of KOM two years ago and signed up but didn't ride last year. I should have rolled it over. Oh well, it gives me a goal....
