i dont think it sells out and if you have to you could sign up for a different route and change the day of. It is a flat century but i have hear the 60-80 mile or so is a little bumpy, i turned around at the point last year. it is also a little cold and a little windy. i would say the wing is more difficault then the hills (if there is any) I will be going this year and i am trying to bring a friend or two.

Oh and buy the way the rooms WILL sell out for sure!

This is any easy century but sicne it is in the begining of the seaon not everyone may be ready for 100. CoolBreeze ride is also an easy century although it was some hills (later in the year).

So, you singlespeed a lot, and me not so much!
I'm guessing my 48x16 will be too much?

I'll be riding it as a training ride for the Gran Fondo the following month in San Diego. Should be a good ride and my mom lives out there so I can take advantage of the free room.

Darin, if you were going to do a ss ride I'd say this would be a good one as any hills there are very mild. I'll gladly ride with you if you decide to do it. I like the vibe of this one.

I might take you up on that Mike. I don't know if you can pedal that slow though!

I'll be doing this to get in saddle time for the KOM series. I will be taking my 5th wheel the night before with another friend from san diego- might have space for a few people if anyone can't get a room.

With all the STR folks looking at doing this ride, maybe we should all meet somewhere and form an paceline.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing but there are so many people with different riding agendas it'd be to hard to stay together. But I don't mind staying together if the group wants too. A good pace group really needs about 4 or 5 and then it'd be a blast!

Let's do it!

I'd love to ride with a group, at least for awhile depending on everyone's pace. I've only had a chance to do a couple STR rides and it doesn't look like many of my roadie friends want to make the trip to Palm Springs for this ride.

Here's a link to the 55 mile course from last year. There aren't any steep climbs at all. Most of the hills are of the rolling kind. The ride back from the far point is just a 15-17 mile grind at 1-2%.

20 is always a good target to shoot for! The more people we get, the faster we can go.

The only hard climb I can remember is crossing over the freeway on the way out to the first SAG but that is only about half a mile climb and then it flatens out. I havent ridden with you guys but if my firend backs out on me i can join up?

I'm thinking of doing the century but I can't sign up until we're at least 2-3 weeks from the event. Sounds like fun!

Can anyone think of a meeting place on Saturday morning? Ride starts early, I think 7 am. I'll be registering the morning of the ride so I'll be going early.
