Basso to Disco
In a classic outhouse-to-penthouse move, Ivan Basso has agreed to ride for Discovery Channel. The deal was confirmed yesterday by Disco director Johan Bruyneel along with co-owner Lance Armstrong, who fought back challenges from Basso while winning his sixth and seventh Tours de France. The 28-year-old Italian signed a two-year contract for an undisclosed figure. (First reports said the deal was for three years and $6 million.) This gives Discovery a rider capable of winning the Tour after the team struggled in the 2006 race -- its first without Armstrong -- without a serious contender for the yellow jersey.

Discovery has such a good team shaping up. I'm thinking he has something to prove too. I'm thinking he's going to go all out and you could see a wide time margin. I just wish he was American, but at least he's not French (sorry, Gurp)

Oh, don't get me started about the fracking French! I'm French-Canadian, not Euro-French. Also, I subscribe to the "Floyd got screwed by the French" theory, also. Because it's funner than thinking he either a) actually doped or b) was screwed by incompetence.
Gawddamned French!!! Legal disclaimer: The previous posting is largely satirical and in jest. Any resemblance to an actual sincere opinion is completely coincidental and should not be construed to represent true facts or opinions. As a person of Euro-Canadian-French lineage, gurp feels that this is truly the only ethnic group he can comfortably make fun of. No French were harmed in the making of this joke. Your mileage may vary.

Funner. As in the comparative form of fun. You know compartive forms? There's also the superlative form: funnest. That's for something that's funner than anything else. Fun, funner, funnest.
Dude, didn't your English teacher teach you anything?
