Default Recall on Felt CX Bikes

http://www.bikerumor.com/2009/06/28/...clocross-fork/

FROM FELT: The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Felt Bicycles has a voluntary recall of about 1450 2007/2008 F1X Cyclocross bicycles. (2008 model shown at left)
The bicycle’s fork steerer tube can break, causing the rider to lose control, fall and suffer injuries. There have been six reports of these forks breaking with minor injuries reported in two of the incidents.
The recall includes all 2007/2008 Felt F1X Cyclocross Bicycles. These bicycles are available in Semi-Matte Black and have aluminum frames with carbon fiber forks with aluminum steerer tubes.
Bicycle specialty stores nationwide sold the 2007/2008 Felt F1X Cyclocross between July 2006 and April 2009 for between $1,449.00 and $1,499.00. They were manufactured in Taiwan.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled bicycles and contact their local Felt Bicycles dealer to receive a free inspection and repair.
For additional information, call Felt Bicycles toll-free at (866) 433-5887 or (866) 4-FELT-US, or visit the company web site at www.feltbicycles.com

According to the guy at Felt, they will be replacing the fork (but have yet to receive their batch of replacements).

Great info!! I'm not sure if I have an 06 or 07. Any way to tell? Does it matter that I bought the bike used? Will they honor the recall so long as the frame and fork match?

When I read the title I thought about Dan. Is his bike part of the recall?

My bike is sitting at switchback cyclery awaiting inspection and repair! It's a 49cm F1X, and I am near 5'10. Perhaps it's a bit too small? =D.

Where is your cx sitting? I'm just curious what other Felt dealers are in the area.

I bought it half hoping to get my girlfriend on it at some point. I have a super short inseam, so it feels okay. I'm kind of riding it in the interim. If she doesn't like it, I'll pick up another cx, possibly another Felt.

We are in Chula Vista and there is a local shop (Pulse Endurance Sports) that carries them.
