A Heads Up on Redondo Beach and Tickets

Apparently Redondo Beach is planning on doing some traffic law enforcement. I got this emailed to me:

Your friends at yikes ID want cyclist to ride safe. We spoke with the
Redondo Beach Police Department today about traffic laws and they
informed us to warn all cyclists. The RB Police Chief is receiving
countless complains from residence about cyclists failing to obey
traffic laws in Redondo Beach. Therefore, the Police Chief will have
his force on the streets Saturday the 18th and 25th of July to crack
down on cyclist. They will issue citations!

Note: come to a complete stop at stop signs. Be aware that the "Stop"
painted on the Esplanade is faded yet this is on of the places where
they will be. The motorcycle people have stated, they don't want to
issue citations so make an effort to stop (their goal is to have you
under 5mph and apparently they are certified to judge the speed
visually). Look both ways and no, you don't have to put your foot down.

Warning issued. You know the story as you've heard your mothers say it
all your life. "Ride Smart" "Ride Safe" "Where a Helmet" "Attach a
yikes ID to your helmet" ok maybe she didn't say that but if she knew
she would!

My sister lives on Esplanade and said they installed a traffic circle because of the accidents involving roadies hauling a$$ down the hill from PV and blowing through the stop signs....

Yeah. I just went through that same traffic circle less than an hour ago and I observed some dunderhead in a car turn LEFT into the direction traffic would be coming from if there had been any traffic. Then proceed up some street. Where were the cops then?
