solvang century

Anyone know when the solvang century is? Does it fill up fast? Is it a hard ride, other than being a century that is? A few of my buddies and myself want to do this ride but have a few questions.

the solvang century happened earlier in the year. I am not sure on the dates for next year yet. I rode it for the first time this year. I would have to say that between miles 85 and 93 are 3 of the worst climbs of the entire ride. and not to mention it was practically freezing in the morning and most of the day. I almost crash a few minutes in to the ride when you go down the hill out of solvang, I was getting speed wobbles from shivering so much, i think i remember seeing it be in the high 30's or something rediculas.

its in early march. 2010 is mach 13. usually falls on the weekend after the vq (it was this year).
its an great ride. we do it every year....
i believe there is a fall double century, and a solvang pre-century ride too.

I just did the one last March, and found it ot be one of the best centuries I have done. Very scenic, and not very difficult compared to many. I plan to do it next year.

Scheduled for March 13, 2010.

That area is beautiful, and even better when the weather cooperates. I registered the night before without any problems, just didn't get the cool schwag from pre-registering.

The ride itself is mellow and easy, with lots of support. An excellent first century. I rode it this year on a 3-speed beach cruiser. There was a guy riding the 1/2 on a unicycle.

At least you were doing it on a bet, there's something wrong with those unicycle guys

The Three Harbors tour is next month, July 11th, there's a metric and full century, it's not quite out by Solvang, but it goes through Ojai and it's supposed to be quite pretty;

Ill defintaly check out the The Three Harbors Tour and the Solvang Pre-Century rides. Thanks for the heads up on these rides. any tranning suggestions for these rides? ill be starting to get back on the bike after a 2 month cool off due to school.
