54 (on a Tandem twice)
I frequently hit 39-41 on the dirt. Rigid is the ONLY way to fly!!

45 & change is the number I remember. That was from the hardtail-no susp days.
I'd assume I must have been faster since with full sus. i'll try to break 60 this weekend going up mustard.

40 ish on dirt....
did 45 on road on my mtb bike on pavement... i think i was aero (im wide) and tire (2.35's) limited... and ran out of gears (2x9)

i hit 35 MPH coming down mount baldy the whole way down, and that was with my hands on the brakes the entire time...
I went fast on a dirtbike though, i hit a trail that was parrallel to the highway, and hit 5th gear full noise, and looked over, and was pacing with a porsche carrera until the guy looked over then took off. I would say i was doing 85-90

48 on Monday going down Kamikaze in Mammoth....
I've hit 55+ on a snowboard there too -- scary fast!

52.9 mph at the 1996 or 1997 Kamakazi done at Mammoth...I forget what year it was, but it was the lasy year they did the race before they started just doing exhibition runs...that was scary fast especially since we were just skipping over the pumus and with a big 62 tooth chain ring, I ran out of gear and had to just tuck and crouch to get more speed.
