Default Court upholds Landis' doping ban

LAUSANNE, Switzerland - Floyd Landis has lost his final chance to retain his 2006 Tour de France title.Monday’s decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport is the last step of a multimillion-dollar process that poked holes in the anti-doping establishment but ultimately left the American cyclist as just another convicted cheater.
A three-person CAS panel upheld a previous panel’s decision, ruling his positive doping test during the Tour two years ago was, indeed, valid.

Landis also must pay $100,000 toward the legal fees of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agenc

This article from Trust but Verify pretty much sums up how I feel about this:

Whether I think he "did" or "didn't" doesn't matter. What does matter is how poorly the anti-doping agencies handle themselves: mis-handled samples and athlete persecution tantamount to a witch hunt. The whole thing needs to be revamped and if that happens as a result of Landis' legal campaign, I'd chalk it up as a victory for him.

I've been in denial about how I feel about pro cycling for awhile now but the truth is, I'm over it. I'll still watch the tour( I think) but no more getting up at 6 a.m. to see it.
No more Prologue parties. No more reading every detail about it.
I may watch it simply for Phil and Paul and the scenery.
I'm bored with it and the politics and the UCI and ASO. Truth is, nobody has blown up my skirt since Lance left.
Anyway, Floyd dug his own grave! Or did he? Depends on who you talk to and which "expert" you choose to believe.
I don't know what to think anymore.

1. It's easy to imagine that the French would conspire against an American.
2. It's REALLY easy to imagine that the French would conspire against an American winning an athletic event in France.
3. Floyd was raised a Mennonite. For crissakes they don't even have TV's!
4. Greg Lemond is still a total douche, even if Will Geoghegan is more of a total douche.
5. The USADA is broken.
6. At least we have Bob Roll.

I've looked into the science behind the testing and both sides of the story. I feel that he was guilty until he proved himself innocent and thats a pretty hard arguement. Not that it matters, but he scientific arguement won my "reasonable doubt"

Oh well, maybe he'll ride on the dirt more now!
