Default Giro updates

"Italian champ Giovanni Visconti continues to wear the race leader's pink jersey...this is Visconti's 7th day in pink."

"Levi Leipheimer and his Astana teammates didn't get their invitation to the Giro until one week before the start in Sicily. So, they've spent the first half of the race trying to get in shape, and just survive the rigors of a three-week tour.

This is Levi's first time in the Giro d'Italia, but in this CycleTo exclusive, he says it hasn't been a totally great experience for him so far."

Bob says it's raining cats and dogs over there....nothing like every major race being in the middle of a storm eh????

Did anyone else notice that the burritos at Chipotle went up in price around the same time that Slipstream started getting lots of attention, what with all the tour invites and TTT wins? I'm happy that the domestic squad is doing so well, but I'm not sure how much longer it will be until I can't afford to eat there anymore.

And McDonalds owns Chipotle I believe.

No, they don't, actually.

I didn't notice prices have gone up, but honestly, prices of everything have gone up. Gone shopping lately? (For groceries)

I'm pulling for Contador! It's been a great race so far. I think I like the Giro better than the Tour.

Haters. I'm 0 for 2 on trying to sell my chipotle theory now.

I just watched the interview of McEwen after following the link in the OP, and I swear that guy has balls thiiiiis big! Normally when athletes get asked about upcoming strategies, they give really broad answers. Robbie told the reporter exactly which stages he was gunning for. He didn't win them, but that's a whole 'nother matter.

Also, I think David Miller is juicing again. As a Felt rider, and with another one on the way, that thing with him tossing that bike was just lame.

Yea, I have never liked him all that much but he has no fear on the bike. Gotta admire that in anyone I guess. And, it's not really bragging if you can actually do it, right?

At least he's honest with his weaknesses too. I'm actually only caught up to stage 7, so I don't know who's still in it and what not, but he usually drops out of the giro once the road points up. He knows better.

www.cyclingfans.com

This website has links to some live coverage. They even have their own player that combines the Italian live TV coverage with the UK live audio coverage. It's a good way to get psyched in the morning. Unfortunately my system at work won't let me view it so I only get it while having breakfast at home.

Enjoy.
