Charlie bit me
![]() |
I left home this morning on the road bike trying to beat the heat out here in the IE, but it didn't work. Things still weren't that bad, but getting warm. I did the climb up the streets and got onto Baldy Rd, but the Sherriff was there and turned me around (you see, the man is always keeping me down!) So I decided to climb up from the GMR side. The going over there was fairly easy as I had a lot of dh. But it was heating up. I usualy see a couple dozen riders and a few packs of riders, but not today. One smaller group and a couple individuals. Got to GMR and the lighted sign said closed to all traffic. Cool not crotch rockets to contend with. The climb up went real smooth. A few folks along the way, but I was doing my best time average yet and didn't want to stop. I set a new personal record but was paying for it as I started the descent. I got a little to dizzy to continue, so I found some shde and chilled for about 5 minutes. Got back on the bike and felt like a new man. I was getting about 40+ mph all the way down. I got to the road block where they'd turned me around and they stopped me. They were not happy. The officer told me I would be getting a ticket and I could of impeded their efforts to put the fire out. (I didn't see it, but my lungs are killing me) I told him the sign was not on (I lied) and he said he'd check it out. Well, no one was available so he let me go after riding my butt for 5 minutes. I never seen a vehicle the whole damn time, going up or coming down and I really believe they should have it open to traffic. Pisses me off when they keep the freeway closed after an accident has been cleared, yet they keep it closed for over an hour or two more. No one looking at anything, just keeping it closed. Anyways he let me off with a warning and told me to tell my friends, so I will.
I know what I did was a way of saying screw you, to the officer, but at the same time they should open the damn road.

I would have given you a ticket, you roadies think you are above the law. You need to get back on the dirt and turn around your wayward pavement ways.
