Okay after a long time of trying to fix my knee problem I finally decided to have a bike fit done and hope it'll fix my knee for good. Can anyone recommend a good bike fitting place around socal ? near 626 is best but im willing to drive if needed. I don't have a problem with my bike size, i don't have any pains on my back, shoulder, arms. Its just mainly my cleat to shoe that is causing me knee pain after i ride. But i think bike fitting does everything so thats fine too.

All Pro here in Simi does them as well. Not sure what they charge but you can call 'em. Plus it is a straight shot down the 210/118 from you (25min)
805 583 4296 Just curious, are you sure it is the cleat position? If you are older as some of us are the wrong saddle height/position can also affect "old" knees. I guess that is why you want to get a fitting, ![]() ![]()

Romeo,
Mike McKovich works out of Dons Bikes in Rialto. He even works with pro's so he knows his stuff and he won't be trying to push a new bike on you like a lot of them do. This guy has a huge following with Cycling Connection. I haven't used him yet as I was waiting till I get my new bike. Ph# 760-249-4473 Cell# 760-220-7174 website: www.maxperformancebikefit.com/

I went to The Physical Edge in Arcadia, on Satna Anita across from REI. He did an excellent job. I was suffering from Achilles pain when riding more than 80 miles. The pain was getting pretty bad. After my fitting my troubles went away and have not returned. John was an ironman triathlete and is still a cyclist and runner. He owns the physical therapy practice as well. He is not cheap at $200 but it was worth every cent to me.
Who ever you go with make sure to get all the measurements from them. You will refer back to them frequently. I use some or all of the numbers to fit all my other bikes. Also mark your seat rails, post, and cleat position with a permanent marker.

I used Mike McKovich for a fitting. He really focuses on flexibility limitations and then gets you set up on your bike. Afterwards he goes over how to stretch certain areas that limit you, pedaling techniques etc. He offers 2 different fittings. I did the one for $150 or $160, one of those two. I would have been just as well off doing only the one for around $65. I did notice instantly my performance was way better and healthier. Had more power and less fatigue. It is well worth it no matter which fitting you chose.

The more expensive one is done while hooked up to the computrainer, but that really does not have anything to do with the fitting. He still measures you and checks flexibility, seat hight, seat position, cleat position, etc. With mountain biking he just focuses on your rear end of the bike for the fitting to help you have more power through you stroke. He says the front end is more of an individual comfort setting. Changes from rider to rider. Knowing what I know now I would have saved $100....either way it is worth it. Like I said it totally changed how much power I was actually getting to the wheel.

One additional item I would like to add about the Physical Edge is Jason has a masters of science in physical therapy, bio here. He is not a guy at a shop and has no interest in selling biking stuff. He also give a full bio mechanical evaluation prior to the fitting. This was important for me due to my knee surgery and the very specific issues I was dealing with.
If you are not being troubled by anything specifically the extra cost may not be worth it. If you are, then the extra cost of having a physical therapist, who is also a cyclist and endurance athlete, may be it.
