Default Dusted the dust off this bike...LOOK...inside

This was a gift from my dad back in the day after I graduated from high school! Dam this thing is old. I think I got it around 93 or so maybe some of you aficionados can tell by the equipment that's on it.

It's a LOOK carbon fiber framed bike with full Campy C Record groupi; again correct me if I'm wrong. It's been hanging at my parent's house for a long long time so I thought I would reclaim it and tune it up and mess around with it. I'm not sure if I should keep it stock or convert to SS and have some fun around town

I've got an old saddle that i'll replace that CF one...dunno why my dad got that...hella uncomfortable. Also got a sweet ass Campi aero seatpost i'll be putting back on as well. Enjoy.

Please don't convert it, clean it up and throw a new chain on it and go. By the way I believe I recently saw those brakes going for big money on the bay. Beautiful bike by the way. What a classic, in every since of the word. Well designed classic bikes are just timeless.

+1 from me. I don't know much about road bikes, but I do remember that Campy groupo in the early 90s (esp. the brakes)... as I recall, it was about the best you could buy. Parted-out, i'm guessing you'd clean-up on eBay. Me, i'd get it cleaned/tuned-up by a specialist and (happily) ride it AS IS. Like Jonathan said "...timeless".

I'd take good care of that bike if i was you!
Price the parts out on E-bay just to get an idea.
Maybe it's a collectors item. I'll bet some of the first carbon made. In which case I'd be nervous to ride it. *snap crack*
Aren't dads great?

The groupo is from 88-89. Has Delta brakes but still using the older non-reverse parallelogram derailluer. The frame is a TVT produced for LOOK. TVT was indeed one of the earliest carbon frame makers along with Vitus. Greg LeMond actually rode a re-badged TVT carbon frame to vicory in the 1989 Tour De France.

Please, please leave the bike as is. Clean it up and ride it, the frame will be fine. You have an awesome piece of cycling history that's in amazing shape and it'd be a shame to part it out. If you ended doing anything like sell it, there are plenty of collectors who'd give it a good home. I'd start here.

The best old school porn I've seen in a long time. Don't mess with perfection. Hang it up and oggle it. To strip it down to get "trendy" would be a shame. Hell, the rear group is so minimal you are not gaining too much or losing much just by letting the unit remain ...old. Thanks for posting the shots. It is very cool.

+1 on that. if you want a fixie get a lame bike and make it cool. This one is way to sweet for that.

Plus, how classic is it to give this as a graduation present? haha I love it!

What should I put here?

The road bike I'm still riding (when I run errands or do an impromptu century) is an '88 specialized allez carbon... the first year spesh made a carbon bike. Downtube shifters, etc. The only things I've changed since I got the bike are the seat and handlebars which broke when a car hit me 10 years ago.

It's still functional so if you don't want to keep it, someone probably will.
