Default Can Someone explain this video to me?

They go super slow for like 2 laps then do track stands and the last 200M they do a super sprint? So confused

For a couple of reasons, it is advantages to be behind your opponent in the sprint. The first two laps are about attempting to get your opponent behind you so that you have the advantage when the sprint occurs.

If you just went out fast trying to ride the other guy off your wheel, he would ride hard to catch your wheel, draft you for 2.5 laps, and then have more energy left than you for the final sprint.

I saw Hubner (the East German) race the World Championships at Colorado Springs in 1986... he was an animal. The American hope that year on the track was Nelson Vails. They both had legs like tree trunks!

I had to watch it again. It sorta reminds me of Foo slowing down to check out 29ers when I ride with him in Aliso.
