I do really think that knowing how to crash can give you an exit strategy. I also think that if one crashes all of the time, it will eventually lead to serious injury. Too much crashing can have a negatibe impact on mindset which can slow down progression even more than the pain and time off the bike from injury. I believe it is best to accept the possibility of a crash and be ready to stay relaxed and crash gracefully. I also believe that it is best to expect that you will nail your line perfectly. If you cannot believe this in your belly, then maybe it is not the day to try the line.
Just got back from er. Crashed this morning on a section of trail that I have ridden hundreds of times. Broken clavicle, cracked rib, broken hand. I ended up getting surgury on the hand right away. The ortho said that the bone connecting my ring finger to my wrist was almosr 2 cm displaced. The folks at Mission were all awesome.

4-8 weeks and I should be good as new.

My guess is that you were not "making it look easy." Just kidding for sure. Hey I hope you healing is quick and complete.

Take care...

Unhappy Ahhhh, young broken grasshopper

The good news is that you now have a story to tell when guys start talking about their "bad" crashes. No longer will you be "left in the dust"... the bad news you already know... it hurts and will keep you off the bike.

You will be missed as part of the tribe. Keep your thoughts positive and close.... like your friends here!

You will survive to ride again.

Default Aww that sucks it has been some tough times for sure.

I have been there before I have broken to many bones to list. The break isn't what hurts its the bruising that hurts. The nerve damage and torn ligament also hurt for a long time.

BTW I jinxed myself right before my crash. I was telling someone how I haven't crashed for over 15 years then the same day I wad it up.

Get well soon.

Tani- Stopped by the SHOP today. Picked up the special order item. THANKS! While there, I was informed of your accident. Best wishes on a speedy recovery!

1) Is the 6 Point OK?
2) When the pain becomes unbearable, realize my friend purchased a bike, a fork, shoes, pedals, accessories (etc.) from you today! ($$$$$) Hope that helped!

Get well soon...

I've broken my clavicle and only bruised a rib. 2 very discomforting injuries cause it hurts to sneeze or cough let alone move about. Get well soon Tani.
