Add me to the list. I went down hard at speed yesterday on Waterworks when my front tire dished out on a right hand turn at about 15-20mph. I landed hard on my right hip and shoulder/elbow.

In the crash my bars got a little tweaked...way tweaked. Here I and the guys are trying to make them straight again after the crash

IMG_6576.jpg

The only place I lost skin was my elbow.

But my hip and shoulder are pretty much centers of major pain/swelling from the impact. Crash + 24 hours and I feel like I was in a car accident. I can barely get up out of bed and hobble over to the Advil bottle.

I don't think anything is broken or fractured just alot of swelling and probably some pulled muscles. I can walk just fine but muscles are sore in the impact areas.

My shoulder is a little painful when I lift my arm out to the side but I have pretty good movement so I don't think it's dislocated or fractured/separated. Can anyone offer any insight on what those injuries feel like?

I'm not in enough pain to head to the doc for a $500 x-ray bill for him to tell me just get some rest and stay off the bike for a while...and that's with my Blue Cross.

I won't be needing my lights tonight Gene so you can pick them up anytime. Just call me first to make sure I'm around, which I most likely will be.

Yea Blue Cross sucks! I hope you get better.

Keith, I am sure you already know this but the P.T. is going to be the most painful. I had surgery on my hand and the P.T was the most painful. I will admit it but during the therapy I used to cry. I could only imagine for your arm, hang in their.

I prefer hurting myself to having someone else do it. OK that sounded wrong!
When my splint came off I would bend my arm way into the pain threshold to get the movement in my elbow back.

I got a handlebar to the chest on Sunday when I fell and I can’t believe how much it hurts right now. I was fine after my crash and even finished the whole ride with only mild discomfort. Today I can’t even imagine riding – it hurts that bad! L Has that happened to anyone?

John - FWIW, unless something shows up the on xray's, like you said... the doc will just tell you to ice the sore parts, take anti-inflammatories, and wait til you heal up to ride.

Hope you're back at it soon.

BTW, I'm not a doctor, and I don't play one on TV

It was my handlebars that broke my ribs in my crash - damn those carbon bars are strong!

Ya usually it takes a couple days before you feel the full effects of a crash. Willie, maybe you should get your chest looked at.., err I mean checked out. Sorry Jason

I looked at her chest, a short while after she crashed.

Jason kept telling me it was down further, no further
