If anyone was in Whiting Saturday at 10:30 am and saw the ambulances and the man in the Path jersey screaming on the ground that was me. Luckily I was with friends, but many many riders stopped to help (One even gave me a sling and tried to relocate my arm for me.) and I want to thank everyone for the support.
The pain was horrible and I told a few people who were giving me advice "Don't talk to me!" Most just laughed at that but I'm very sorry if I said that to you. I was in a pretty bad state. Turns out it was NOT dislocated, but instead multiple fractures of the ball of the Humerus where it meets the shoulder. I just fell on a rock and landed with all my weight on my shoulder ON a rock. Sucks cause I had just come down from Old Camp and Luge where I had my best descents ever for that trail. Looks like I may need surgery so I'm off the bike for a while. Now I just have to figure out what to do about VQ / CC because signups are in a few weeks even though the race isnt until March. Thanks again to all that might have stopped, see you back on the dirt ASAP. ![]() Tony |

Bad news. Best of luck on the surgery and the road to recovery. Keep us posted - I'm sure there are plenty looking forward to joining you on your first ride back.

My riding buddy had his second shoulder surgery recently. He broke the ball off in the socket last year at Crystal Cove. He had it operated on again after a new doc discovered the worst infection hes has ever seen. He's healing up nicely now. New doc is a mountain biker too.

It pains all of us when we hear about a tribe member that goes down... we've all been there... some worse than others. You will be missed on the trails....until you return.... and return you will!
