I rode this weekend at Santiago Oaks with the group and suffered a bit as well. I dislocated the knucle on my little finger on Friday. I tripped while running up the stairs & snapped the finger... but was able to pop back in place (Och!)and bandaid/splint it up... didn't dare tell the wife as she wouldn't have been too happy about me riding next day. Took the squishy 5.5 instead of the 29er SS and still suffered on the downhills... och, ooh, ooch! Very distracting. I know this doesn't compare with yours Keith.. but still hurts just the same!

Keep healing...

I'm out of town this weekend but how about the next weekend? (Sept 1st/2nd?) We could do Sunset beach down to Newport and back or maybe Redondo to Santa Monica and back? Naturally I'll be out to try at least 6mm of the 6" of travel I now have

Damn....I swear that place is cursed. Anyone know any "mountaining biking priest", that can go out and conduct a clensing to ward off the "evil bike spirits living there.

Had my cast removed today. 1month and 3 days after the crash and I only have a removeable wrist brace on now! The radial neck of my elbow has almost totally healed already with almost full range of movement and the other small fractures in my elbow joint are healing well.
I took the bike round the apartment complex roads last night and all went well. got a bit sore after 10mins or so but hey its a start
Start physical therapy in 3 weeks.

He expects those fragments to grow back together and make the break ultimately stronger....I hope! The big chunk on the right one is a bit concerning but he didnt give a time frame on them growing back together. He looked a bit alarmed when I told him I rode on the street - but said it'd be fine....'jsut dont fall off!'

Damn it was weird when the cast came off - painful and skin falling off all over the place!

Hey Keith, wouldn't a road bike be more jarring to your arm than a MTB? Hope the pieces heal together without further assistance! Take care

Hey Keith,

Glad you're healing up well. The scar looks cool! I'm sure it'll fade and fill in with time. Soon you'll be riding with us back up Blackstar.

Thumbs up Excellent news!

That's great news... you've already learned so much more about fractures that you really didn't want to know in the first place. Just glad everything seems to be knitting together nicely. The human body is a marvel! Just don't be testing it again!

Look forward to seeing on one of our Newbie rides when you're ready.
