So I dont know if its funny or not but here goes.

(all types one handed, sorry for the spelling and such)

I dont know if this should be in the rider down thread or not. feel free to move it.

We only have 3 keys for 4 roommates, Im the only guy so I gave my key to the girl that didnt have one. Because of this I have been crawling through my window for about a week. (No we couldnt get a new one made because our lock is broken and all the new ones we got didnt work)

My window is normally open a little so its easy. This time it was closed so I tried trhe push on the window trick to unlach it.

Well I pushed my hand/wrist through the glass. You guessed it. Cut it bad.


Cleaned it oF and made a sweet "boy scout" bandage while I desided to go getr stitches or not.

Well I went. Urgent care closed at 5 i got there at 515. Went to the hospital.

16 stitches and one tetanus shot later and Im back.


The worst part of the whole thing is i get back and find that my roomate was next door watching the game. I dont know why i didnt call her before i tried to break in.

Not sure if i can ride yet or not. Doc said no restrictions, but if i bend my hand back I feel pressure in my stitches. dont want to rip them out. Im sure I paid good money for them

It could have been way worse. I could see my vein in the cut. maybe a mm deeper and would have got it.



I figure I should laugh at it. What else could I do now. Its over and done. Dont want to be sad, might as well laugh.


going to the apartment office tomorrow to have them fix my lock so new keys will work. Also going to explain how I was gone all weekend and when I got back my window was broken for some reason.

The same exact thing happened to me 15 years ago. I was pushing a window shut with the tips of my finger as I had just painted the wood frame and didn't want to touch it. Old house, single pane glass and a little more pressure then I thought and snap! My hand went right through the glass and ripped open my wrist just about the same spot yours did with the only difference being my tendent became severed in the process and retracted back near my elbow. Talk about blood squirting everywhere. I couldn't stop it with my other hand. Rushed to ER and they took me in so fast. I learned if you want to get in the ER quickly, you either have to have a serious trauma with blood loss, loss of feeling in limbs and trouble breathing/chess pains. I've done all three and have gotten right in within seconds. Don't try this at home.
Long story short, a hand specialist needed to be called to clean up the mess. 110 stitches (most of them on the inside) and having my tendent re-attached landed me in cast for 2 months. Slow painful healing.

Point being, could've been way worse. Good luck healing!

How much did you lose betting on the superbowl?? Really. Life isn't that bad. get some meds, and professional help and you can make it. Do you want to talk to my pastor? I mean, really. STR cares, and we can help, no matter what your problems. Please. Just stop trying to hurt yourself man....

Dude, you go to the hospital, WITHOUT telling them! then get back, and tell them you fought off a robber and he slashed you with a shard of glass.

Bring back a puppy for good measure to ensure you get some.

I went for the diagonal, little bit of both styles. Maybe next time Ill do better.

They already know Im an idiot, its too late for them. Ill work on my story and try it with the girls from school.

Make sure the girls you try it on don't know your roomies!! Oh, and don't remember too much! Everything was pretty much a blur, all you can remember is he broke in, you got up and cracked him, then he slashed you and you can't really remember what happened but you came out with a slashed wrist, and sore knuckles.

Remembering details gives the fib away.

Funny thing about that.... unless your on mad blood thinners, you cant kill yourself by cutting your wrist. You got these cool check valves in your shoulder area that would stop blood flow, Its even better to hear this when your working in the ER, and the Doctor that is stiching up the guy that tried tells him......"Next time do it right, this doesnt work unless your in the movies......"

How does the cost of the ER visit compare to the cost of getting a 4th key made?

Still...that really does suck. I sliced my wrist open on a tuna can a while ago and had to deal with people looking at the scar and thinking, "Did he try to commit???...nah!" It'll make for some awkward conversations in the near future for you.

Ok that was gross.I did something that gross and size to my shin, no wasnt wearing shin armor. I bet a buddy that i could drop a vertical line for lunch. I didnt make it and half way down exploded, smashed the shin into the chainring, removing the flesh down to the bone.Best part was removing it out of the middle chainring , enough to hold in my hand, fat cells, and hair roots all over. It was awesome, so needless to say 10 yeas later I get to still see my dumbass mistake everytime i put socks on.lol
