So check it out. Started back in june. Found myself in pain. Slowly getting worse ended up in teh hospital. Full work up, Sonogram all the major organs, found a distended Gall bladder, with a few polyps<normal thing for someone my age>. Anyways, Surgeon doesnt wamt to take it out yet<still june> So I went on, had another scan for a possible condition, was turned radioactive, left underneath a very uncomfortable machine for two hours to find normal results.
Well, once or twice a month I would find myself in crippling pain in the same area. By Crippling I mean imagine a dull spoon being stabbed into your ribcage, then being twisted around slowly for about ten minutes, forcing you into a fetal positon till it passes. Well, this past month or so, I took some time off riding to see if maybe the amount of riding was a contributing factor. No difference, still had another attack this past friday, and it was a bad one. Ended up getting more bloodwork , went too the doc wed morning. Well, Results from the scan are finally in, and this time there is something in the bloodwork. Gall bladder is working about 50%, Liver function is low, Pancreas is low. Well now things are moving fast, Got a call today, they want be back in NOW for more testing. No food after eight tonight, no caffeine, no coffee, no juice, limited water. Testing starts at 3pm tommorrow, The results, then see surgeon again, then more tests..........Well, we will see what happens.

Yeah, about the family. I havent told them about the liver and pancreas report yet. It opened up a whole new series of tests and possiblities, some that need to be proved, or disproved before anytihng can happen. If my liver is truly dropping, they cant remove the now bleeding gallbladder, Cause the liver wont filter out the Anesthesia<sp> leaving me to never wake up.
So currently its a hope that the GB is masking and throwing off the other tests. Both situations are very real possibilities, dont want to panic the family yet is all. Is that wrong?

I'm still new here and haven't really met you, but I'm just as sympathetic and hopeful as those who know you well. This is a great community here and everyone is A+ and I feel more and more a part of it with time.
My prayer's are with you through this difficult time. You are in good hands and the doctors are finally moving forward. Please try to keep us posted and I pray everything works out smoothly for you. |

Scary stuff, grasshopper. I'll add you to the prayer list. It could always be worse... I know that doesn't help you in your situation... but hang in there. I just hae this feeling it will all work out.

On the other hand, if they are the type (like mine) who would immediately start mourning and stressing you out with their worries, it may be best to only let them in on what is known. For the record, nothing else can be shared by the docs unless you want it to be. Thoughts and prayers for an optimal outcome. Hopefully, it's just a case of a bad gall bladder.

Write a will, make peace with your maker, know your enemy as the infliction upon you, advise your love ones. Fight, drink water, talk to us for frequent laughs. Mike I'll pray for you to accomplish the aforementioned tasks bestowed upon you.

you know your family best. It is your decision.
Of course they will be worried, but that's what we do for the ones we love. They can probably help you.
