Default Member of CHUMBA Family left Paralyzed After Catastrophic Crash
A cyclist and dear friend of CHUMBA Racing was injured in a serious mountain bike crash recently. Matthew Alloy, Operations Manager at CHUMBA, was riding with his wife, Robin Alloy, at Chino Hills State Park in Orange County, California. Coming down a descent, Robin hit her head on rocks and broke her helmet and was left paralyzed. Robin suffered serious damage to her spinal cord - and 2 discs had to be removed and a metal plate inserted into the front of her neck. Those of us who know Matthew and Robin know that they are genuine, kind-hearted people with a life-long commitment to cycling and athletics.

This is a difficult time for Matthew and Robin, and we ask everyone for their prayers during this trying ordeal. We ask for your prayers and support during this time. Any assistance to the Alloy family in the form of cards, words of support, or financial contributions to help offset medical costs would be greatly appreciated.

... Mtb'ing is dangerous and not for everyone. If it wasn't somewhat dangerous I doubt many people would do it. That said, we should all thank our lucky stars when we get home safe and sound.

wow thats really tragic... i had a similar crash over the weekend where i manage to drive my head into a dirt wall and cracked my helmet... luckily i did not even suffer a concussion let alone fracture any cervical vertebrae.

i hope Tara can be an inspiration to Robin as she has to many others..
