Default Hit from the rear!

So i was hit from the rear 50 miles into my 80 miles ride. went flying over the handle bars! Landed face first on pavement! Knocked the two front teeth out and a hole all the way through my lip. got stitches and a some fake teeth in there now! I am just thankful that i didnt break any bones cause some teeth and stitches wont stop me from being active and living my life! Planning to get my bike checked out tomorrow and either go for a very short ride or go to the gym. And i bought a biking magazine for the night! still a little shaken up though

Glad your injuries haven't put you on the DL. One question, or series of questions. Rear Ended? Were you on the Road or on the trail? (80 Miles makes me think Road) If on the trail, how did you get rearended? Please do give more details. Just curious. Heal Quick my friend.

Raising your heart rate could cause the stitches to "leak." Heal well!!

ah my stitches should be alright. Yes i was on the road. The guy just bumped me and i endowed the bike.

Man it felt like the black guy getting curb checked in American History X.

i am not looking forward to these root canals but want them to get done asap as least it looks like i have my real teeth in right now and just a lip injury lol. My lip is so swollen right now! It feels like a balloon.

My plan for the day is to go hit the gym hard with legs and get em soar so i wont feel as bad about not riding on my schedule.

Anyone else ever had an injury like this where you just endo and eat it?

What's up with Flagstaff drivers? dizzy from the altitude? My daughter at NAU just got hit walking in a crosswalk two days ago -- did a Jackie Chan roll onto the hood, but luckily only minor injuries.
I'd say you are very lucky considering what might have happened. A friend's wife barely survived being hit by a car on her bike. Many haven't. So nowadays I load up my MTB rather than ride it 15 minutes to my local area (cuz there's a freeway interchange bridge and lights to go thru..).
Any given day you wake up, ya don't know what could happen. I'm very glad you weren't hurt worse! Heal up & hit the trails!

As an added bonus, you are now safe from contracting the avian bird flu while you ride.

Heal up soon!

ya my worst fear was dental injuries too but with lots of pain killers they arent that bad. as long as you have insurance or means to fix them. def did freak me out like no other injury at first though when i still had jagged teeth.

just feels so good to be out there riding cant stop!
