Oh yea, I had one of those, waking up in the hospital not knowing why you are there, how you got there, or why friends are standing over you. That was years ago. To this day I don’t remember exactly, I don’t even remember the 20 min ambulance ride down PCH (Malibu to SM). I hope you remember the helicopter ride. I had to pay for the ambulance and didn’t even get to remember / enjoy it!

Best of luck. Make going back to the point of the accident one of your first rides back.

Actually I was fully awake, coherent and walking around wanting to get back on my bike and ride. At least until what they told me happened started to sink in. The helicopter medics after talking to my friends put my neck in a brace and strapped me to a board. The only thing of the helicopter ride I got to see was the medic and 2 air vents in the ceiling above me. At least it only lasted a couple of minutes. But they didn't take that neck brace off for about 4 hours waiting for cat scan results. By the second or third hour it was driving me nuts. By the way, the ceiling in the examination room above my bed has 3,142 dimples in it.

I tried to keep my sense of humor at the hospital. But I started to be a little more careful what I said when I asked for M&Ms and they started to bring in an enema .

The "mistress" is fine. She's currently at the bike doctors getting a checkup just to be sure.

Thanks. The sucky part is I've never ridden the Kenter Whoops, and never even got to them. Screwed up the very first baby whoop. The other part that sucks is usually when I screw up I learn from my screwup. But I don't recall what happed so I'm not sure what I screwed up .

[jeffj] I had one of my U17 girl soccer players pass out for a couple minutes after torquing her knee (ACL - nothing to do with her head). She let a blue streak fly that would make a Raider fan blush, then her head slightly jerked to one side and out she went. I think sometimes it's just a traumatic situation that can cause that.

Glad it doesn't appear to be anything serious.

[bigdmtb] That's why I don't play soccer.

Sounds absolutely nutty.

Are rides to UCLA in a chopper expensive?

Might be cheaper than filling up your car at this point!

Ken, how are you doing now? Fully recovered?
