I heard about this a while back but had no idea it was this serious. Jamie was a local when I used to live up north and would continue to dominate the XTERRA womens field up until last October. It is crazy how something can sneak up and possibly snatch so much fitness and prospect away. All I can say is I hope she makes a full recovery.
From her BLOG Jamie Whitmore is no stranger to a tough challenge. You don't become 2007 XTERRA USA Champion, 2004 XTERRA World Champion & 2003/04 XTERRA European champion without a good fight. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ On Friday, March 28, Jamie underwent surgery to remove a large cancerous tumor. After 9 1/2 hours of surgery, that tumor was successfully removed. Husband Courtney is very hopeful as Jamie continues to recover and undergo further treatment at UCSF Hospital in San Francisco.
