I am new to the sport of mountain biking. I am starting with a GT XCR200 iDrive.
A few friends and I decided to take on the Fullerton Loop. The entire trail was great for me until the ending part. We came up upon a fork and everyone decided to go left.. except for me. I decided to go right.. Right when I entered it, I knew I was in for some trouble. It was a lot steeper then I anticipated and there was a sharp left turn. I tried to feather the brakes but it did not help. I somewhat low-sided into a bed of cactus. Let the pictures explain. My friends had to cut off my shirt to remove all the cactus on my upperbody. My sister later had to come home and remove the pricks off my ass. Took a total of six hours. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Chris |

i know exactly where you fell and I've thought about how much it would suck. looks like I was right, it sucks alot. good luck with the riding and i hear that duct tape is what your supposed to use to take the cactus out although ive never tried it myself.

I put my hand onto a cactus once as a kid; walking on a trail and put my hand on the rock next to me for balance. It's painful and hurts even after you pull the needles out. I'm sorry, man.

Man, I really feel for you - that's a lot of pain and suffering. But I know I'm not the only one who snickered a little bit at this part...

We tried duct tape and it did NOT help as well as we thought it would. It pulled out more leg hair then cactus pricks.
Thanks, I'm pretty much healed 100% already. I ran the crystal cove trail the following weekend =D. |
