Hey Jared,

Glad to know you're OK, aside from everything else.

I think your liquid would be better for all your riding. *as far as wearing pads go, i've never used them, since i'm a bit more conservative on the descents and just use my brakes more. do what you have to do, but speed is can be tricky. one more thing, check your suspension setup, make sure it's compatible with your riding style, i know that has an effect on how your bike will handle the rough stuff at different speeds.

Keep the rubber side down!

Jared,

Glad you feel better.

I was telling my wife about your crash and the fact that the helmet saved you life. Her first question was: "do you know what brand of helmet it was?"

I am on my third helmet in 3 years. I cracked 2 Specialized helmets and never had more than a small bruise on my forehead.

I now have a Giro Xen. It has a good coverage and is very comfortable. I decided to get Xen when I saw my friend drop about 6 feet and land on his head like a missile, and then get up smiling.

It is something I never have any problem justifying the cost with my wife.

I have (had) a specialized helmet. Bless those techs who bash helmet all day. So Giro? I'm in the Market now so I'll definatley have to check them out.

It's also a good idea to learn to roll with a fall when you endo or get thrown off of a bike. It could potentially save you from injury.

Good to hear you up and moving again.

I guess we can change the name of the thread from Man Down to Man on The Mend and Will Be Back Again....

For those of you who've never seen a severe hip contusion ....

PS - This is a blast from the PAST - Happened over a year and a half ago, I have healed just fine.
Use this a evidence that because crap happens it doesn't mean you should quit
