I was diagnosed with tendonitius in my fibular brevis muscle last month. The pain was really close to my achilles so I was really scared. Calcaneal Tendon (achilles) takes a longgggg time to heal.

Fortunately for me the fibular brevis muscle is a small supporting muscle, so the doctor said I could continue my training!

I had a sweet hook up of seeing the podiatrist for me Angels and Ducks. If you need I can give you his info.

As for now stretching and anti-inflammatories.
what anti-inflams do you recomend? Ive been taking advill and drinking green tea.

My podiatrist gave me an injection of toradol (really strong anti-inflam) and then the pills to go with it for 5 days.

ibuprofen is good.

Its really importance to strectch, regardless of whats wrong with you.

Also some simple strengthening exercises that I learned::

-Stand bare-foot with feet shoulder width apart.

-lift right foot foward and hold and try and maintain balance on left foot. Switch feet and also put foot behind and balance.

Now try with your eyes closed. This works all your supporting muscles in your legs.

I do this everyday and can master it with my eyes closed! When I get old, you will never hear me complain about injuries or nothing!!

Ft. Lewis is quite the powerhouse. They won Div I National Championships for XC last year and Union wound up 4th in Div II. I'm partial to the riding in Colorado. Ned Overend lives there for a reason...

My advice would be to take some time off the bike and running. Perhaps try some Tissue rejuvenator from Hammer.

Hope this blows over real quick Matt. You're too young to have problems like this.
