Stay tuned.

A couple weeks back, it was in the local Laguna Paper. Injured person not named nor seriousness of injury…just back and neck injury.. Paper said the airlift was by done by local ambulance/hospital and Laguna Lifeguards.

Nice catch. I hope I don't have those powers. Would be creepy if it does happen. I would have to go see some shaman or something to rid me of such a curse!

Keep you posted on 3/8.

Looks like we have our answer. I am not sure if I could give much else, but will still check into it it.

Sadly its just one of the inherent risks to the sport. I've broken 15 bones and most of them doing something completely benign. I broke my neck about 14 years ago mountain biking, broke my back 6 years ago on a mountain bike. Both were low speed but unfortunate accidents. Last year I broke my wrist riding some single track on the dirt bike causing nerve damage.

I hope the guy is ok and recovers as well as I have. One thing I will suggest to anyone who has a serious injury like this is they go to counseling with their significant other if they want to keep their relationship. Crippling injuries, even temporary ones can really mess up your head. After my back injury, and the subsequent failure of a marriage (I was a real pain and in alot of pain) I asked my Dr how many patients does he have who end up having relationship problems. He thought about it, and said about 75% of the people he's treated ended up having problems.

I guess I got way off track. If anyone knows the guy, be an awesome support team for him!

In AMA competition open face helmets are not allowed only full face. bicycles aren't any safer then motorcycles so why not wear same protection.

Nothing shows as a call we went to in the Helo on 3/8. Hope whomever went down is doing ok.

I dont post much on STR and dont know the guy, but I hope he recovers from this. I ride there at least twice a week and am sure we've crossed paths. My thoughts go out to him and his family.
