Default Home Sweet Home!

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes- I am so grateful to have this community of riders to belong to.
It is so good to be home after 3 LONG days in the Trauma unit. The good news is I did not end up with a little bag outside the body situation. There are no intestinal tears, spleen, liver or kidney issues so far. I was told to watch for those kinds of issues in the coming days. I cannot quite walk upright, and was told to stay off of my bike for at least ten days to two weeks.
Special thanks to all of my wonderful trail angels for the gifts and visits and endless phone calls- Thanks Jacke & Nancy (Denmother)
and Thanks Kristine and Carrie for helping me to escape from the hospital today, get me home, get me food, clean my house, etc.....
Thanks ,Mark ( Outlaw) for being one of my best friends for more than 20 years - for being on that ride with me , and knowing exactly what to do!

Default RR: Springing Brenda out of the hospital

We showed up with a cake with a file hidden in it, but turns out we didn't need it after all. She was finally released, and man, not soon enough. That place was crazy!

Always an attitude... Note the tats on her feet. You should see the others

After freshening up, we headed over to the Macaroni Grill to strengthen our friend and celebrate her return to normal life.

A small mark - in the shape of a bar end? How did one end get her in the gut and one in the arm???

I think I'd rather deal with a damaged spleen than face off with Vampire Kitty!

Congrats on going home Brenda!

Glad your'e home but I don't get it...if they don't know what's wrong and where your internal injuries are, then why do they say you can ride in 10 days??
And yeah, your cat...WOW!! Siamese if you please rock! A great breed! But I do have a 20 lb. ball of orange CHeddar love in my lap as I type this! He is my center!

It was determined that there was only an injury to the abdominal wall, no organs involved...

And as for vampire kitty, he's my psycho kitty - Brenda has a nice one. This one is a Balinese, which is a long-haired Siamese, but not as furry as a Himalayan. Simba is a nice kitty (unless he's hungry...).

Unhappy Grasshopper Brenda...

It always hurts me to hear when one of our Tribe goes down... especially when it's one of our girls...
We all need to remember that this is a high risk sport we all love...

Oh, and Brenda, you're allowed only one bad crash every 10 years!

You'll be missed on the trails....

Not to derail the thread, but shouldn't you be writing the next chapter?
