Hi All, Donna Here, Steve Busher's girlfriend... Dang! What a scare! He has a bad concussion, jacked up shoulder and a dislocated bone in his hand/wrist. We are still at the hospital, staying overnight for surgery in the morning. 3 doctors tried to pop the hand back in place but he has so much muscle tissue that it wasn't possible. Even so, there are torn ligaments that will need mending for long term stability. He's still my Super man!!! and will be back in no time!!
Anyone get any photos of Steve Busher's crash? He still doesn't know what happend! He's getting surgery on his wrist/hand tomorrow morning. Someone said they got some video? we would love to see them. Thanks, Donna and Steve. Last edited by genusmtbkr5; 02-11-2008 at 06:34 AM. Reason: merged post and moved thread to Rider Down Forum |

I talked to Malissa that was shooting just feet from him but everyone was so concerned how bad the crash was they just dropped everything...she was one of the first to get to him. I'll ask her if she knew of anyone else there. Glad to hear he'll be ok everyone was asking about it all day!! Send him our best.

Yeah...I was walking up for some practice runs and I had brought my daughter with me so she could take some photos and see what racing was all about. Just as we came up on the rock garden, Steve entered the section real good and fast. He hucked the rock on the upper right side and landed well. I was saying "Dang...that guys killing it" well he landed well but perhaps caught a front tire and bam...ragdolled. He stood up and then fell back unconcience..i guess. My girl was practically in tears and we prayed right there then as it was hard to have witnessed that. I had felt that on Sat I was moving thru the garden pretty good but after watching that i must say my confiedence went way down.
In any case, our prayers are with you so heal quick and I'm sure we'll be seeing you out there again...charging it! |

i was right next to him looking for what line i was gonna take. he had the most amazing line and everyone was just in shock at the line he had. You can hear the chain and all clinging and bike working over the rocks..........then you see the peddle hit the boulder on the right and everything was dead silent. There were even two guys next to me that said they weren't gonna race after seeing it. It made my stomach sick knowing I had to race later that day. It was really scary and im very happy to hear that he's doing good, because i heard some not to good rumors all day.
Ha and my mom saw it too and she was freakin out all day on me to take it easy haha but again thanks for the update and hope he gets better soon ![]()

Donna,
We were across from Melissa. She was right above the rock Steve fell behind after the final impact and She was first to get to him. Brave girl to run to that scene. It was brutal. I don't think she could have taken a picture of him in flight, He was moving too fast. I didn't hear anyone say they had video or even a photo of Steve's crash. It was still pretty early in the day and not many spectators were up there yet. I hope someone has something for Steve to see other than meat wagon shots. I have been in that same position after a big crash without remembering what happend. Steve, glad you survived that horrendous impact. Worst bike crash my friend and I have ever seen. Good luck, Chris |
