Default 123 Youre Out!

Anybody have this problem. So awhile back I injured my back. Healed up, and now all of the sudden this morning I wake up with the same pain I had before. Is this common? Now I know this is not the doctors office. I was just wondering.

Did you go through any PT the first time around? If not, I would talk to your dr about it. If you did, have you kept up on your exercises?

Yes, you've got it. There are a handful of exercises I have to do for my own back, as there is some alignment problem with some tight muscles. No matter. For what it's worth though, my PT friend strongly urged that I continue the exercises well beyond after the pain has disappeared. I can only guess as to why that's the case; perhaps a smarter mind will chime in with the reason.

Flexibility and strength do not come by themselves! Weight training, stretching, mobility exercises, chiropractic and massage should become a regular way of life for all of us!!!

Also bike fitting is very important. There are so many mechanical aspects (leg/arm length vs position of bars, pedals, cranks, seat, etc.) involved. Having any one of these askew can cause pain and issues later on down the road!!!

I think I may need to go with a shorter stem, I feel a little stretched out on the new bike. Maybe I should go and have it fitted.I don't know if the bike was the cause. I felt fine last night and woke up today in pain.

Oh, I forgot to ask: do you ever sleep on your stomach? If so, tsk tsk...

That may have been the problem last night.I usually sleep on my side with a pillow between my knees or on my back. Last night tossin and turnin, so I did sleep on my stomach.

Hmm, I guess that's part of the problem.

Good luck and I hope you feel better soon!

I understand sleeping with 28 virgins does wonders for the back... give it a try you've got nothing to lose!

Sorry to hear about your back...that sucks. New bikes are a different sit....some adjustments will no doubt need to be made. I know my neck was really out of whack after I rode my new bike last Saturday - I'll need the bars raised a bit I'm sure.

I'm out tonight too with the Fully Loop!! Was just checking on "life outside work" before I get back at it. I have some serious deadlines tomorrow, I'll be hard pressed to make them even working late tonight - but I don't want to work Saturday.Thats TRAINING DAY for CC!!
