What happened to the truck??
There's blood on it. It was a tree trimmer's hauler not anybody's show piece.

Wow, sorry to hear about your accident. Glad to hear that's all you suffered. Coliding with a truck could have been a lot worse. Heal up quick!

It always pains me to hear when one of our own Tribe goes down... but, as Jeff said... you're lucky, it could have been worse. You'll heal to ride again another day... until then, rest and recuperate.

It's horrible to hear of yet another bike vs. auto collision. It sucks you will be off the trails for a while, but good that your injuries were not worse than they are. Heal well and soon!

Doug- Hopefully you'll learn your lesson that 30 miles and 5000' in the dirt is enough for 1 day. And you had to go for more on the road no less. I wonder what you're going to do with all of that free time now?

But seriously that really sucks, did anyone fill you in on how it happened? If you need anything from one of your fellow santa monicas riders, let me know. Hope you heal fast.

Doug, so sorry to hear that.

Road riding scares me; as I've said before, I trust trail animals more than those on the road. Too many near misses and too many good people hit!!

Glad you're okay though, and hope you're back soon. Healing vibes and yadda yadda yadda!

Even though you're not a mac convert yet, it still saddens me to hear about your accident. Riding on the road scares the bejeesus outta me - you're almost putting your life in the hands of the general public. Hope you heal up quick and well!

Don't mean any disrespect but that why I don't ride road bikes. Just too many people on the roads not paying attention to my safety on a bike. Can't take the chance.

Hope you heal up fast

I don't know you...but I hope your healing goes well. As other have said, I'm glad you're still alive to tell the tale.

I have neither road bike nor plans to acquire one...

Ahh, you'll catch up and pass all of us on the ladder in no time. I started in June and finished 71st. With the miles you ride you'll take the lead in a matter of weeks. Get well soon!
