Ah, no. I'll be riding as soon as this Saturday, but I will be eating and drinking (alot) on Thanksgiving, as all of you should be.

I think everyone understands the boutique bike jabs are all in good fun (come on Chumba guys, the chuba thing is funny), but when someone gives you s#!t about your "big box brand" that happens to be all that you can afford, it kinda hurts.

It's fun to rip on the Shocker too -- mostly because they're ripping their customers off by making them think they're getting the same thing for less when they're getting something dangerous because it looks to the untrained eye like it can do more than it really can.
I'm not sure if you are referring to my use of that term, just wanted to clarify that I never meant to put down any large bike company by calling it a "big box" company. The guys who have been riding with me from a few years ago know that I owned a couple of different bikes from larger bike companies and I still have some in my garage - if it came across as negative in anyway it really wasn't my intent.

Guys, the "big box" thing is spiraling out of control. I coined that phrase when refering to Trek, with its "Trek Superstores", which reminded me of some "Big Box Retailers" such as Walmart, Home Depot, etc. Its not really a blanket term to be used for large bike companies.

I was wondering what everyone was talking about with the big box talk.
I really didn't know what the heck you where talking about. I really didn't care much either.

I wasn't referring to your statement. I was being sensitive about something someone said the other day.

Sorry to break the flow.

Back to your regular scheduled programming.

Zoned out at the end of a ride, clipped my handlebar on a rock, air dabbed over a cliff, fell down said cliff, used elbow and knee pads to break fall, head struck rock in a whip-like fashion.

ADD + Mountain bike = Pain

I got a few internal stitches and 9-10 outside. Now there is only a small hairline scar you have to be looking for to see. Same place too--right side upper lip.
Doug, are you talking about that huge gash on your upper lip? You know the one with all that scar tissue that makes you talk so funny?

I know, that sucks. I'll be back out on the trails this weekend, though. And I'll be at the Sladnas ride.
