Just saw this and I think I'm in. Sounds awesome and I've been wanting to ride the DJ bike at the track recently.

Lee, it will be good to see you. Parks and Lucky's reunite!

I don't anyone from STR other than Lee and Fullerton Mike (HinkDog too, if he's still around), so it will be great to meet some of you peeps. I'll be breaking the cardinal rule by riding an aluminum rig (Yeti) wearing my S&M jersey... S&M 26" frame still to come!

Yeah Mike, So good to see you out getting it done tonight, I thought after your get off at Fontucky 2 years ago I thought for sure you were done! NOT! looking good like always! thanks for coming out and doing some BMX with all use old boys GOOD times for sure. I hope to see you again and let's get out and do a MTB RIDE and put that 36 lbs light weight bike to use!

Hey guys, thanks for the great time tonight. I wish my riding would have been better, but most of us kept the shiny side up, so that was good.

Mike and Lee, it was so good catching up with you guys. We need to hang out on any kind of bikes more often. You were both looking good out there

Dino, it was great to meet you. Thank you again for putting this together. I can't wait until the next one! Just a reminder of what a cool community we have here at STR.

The Ride Report that was 2 1/2 years in the making...

First attempt at hosting this ride: Canceled. (worst fires in SoCal history)
Second attempt: Canceled. (7-day rains flooded the track)
Third attempt: Canceled. (track operator requested a scheduling change)

Saturday's event was well worth the wait!
I love pedaling around a bmx track. I was pedaling with friends. The weather was perfect. Quite a few attendees had never ridden a bmx track before. I have been telling friends they will learn more (in one day on a bmx track) than one month on their local trails. What else?

Sorry we missed the event. ShugaMama was out of town all week so we had a nice family dinner last night. I've been working with Shuga on his own bike, but we still have training wheels. Maybe if there is ever another event we can go and the bike will be without the extra wheels.

Thanks so much Dino! for setting this up. The kids (and me) had an absolute blast. Even though they rode 3 hrs non-stop, it was hard to peel them off the track... they went to bed talking about it, and woke up this morning talking about it.

and, Im actually at work today working on a crummy proposal my boss is forcing me to do, against my vehement objections... so reveling in the memories of yesterday is making it a bit easier to swallow.

Very fun on the bmx track yesterday and seeing all the kids ripping it up out there was super cool. Deffintely in for the next one, only i'll make sure to bring a better tool for the terrain in the future. Thanks to all that let me try their rides and to do Dino for putting this together. BMX pump track races rule!

That was EF'N FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good to meet some new STR members and hang out with the OLD ones (the old ones are FAST!). Thanks go out to Julie and family for the carpool to the event ( glad to know I'm not the only person on this fourm with CPT syndrom, lol), Lee! that's a VERY NICE BIKE that you let me ride...wow. Sorry for running you and your bike over TWC, at least you were in front of me for that to happen, LOL. Suggie....nice to see you again as always, also nice to see that you rode a few laps!
As far as the riding goes, I have LOTS TO LEARN!!!!! 1st thing is to try and not have a heart attack! Flat pedals are weird (but grippy...who knew)! Getting the flow to PUMP the track sounds easier than it actually is, and KIDS NEVER GET TIRED!!!!!
I'm sure there's a million other things that I'm missing to mention, but I had a great time.

BTW STR...Dino rode a bike (his music selection is a little.....It's very Dino, let's leave it at that)!

I would also like to thank Dino Brown and I believe Mike at Fullerton Bikes for setting this BMX ride up!

Doubleoh7 - You definitely are talented great pictures.

It was a great time and perfect to get Logan (6) on the track for the first time. Also Ginny's first time on the track and she could have kept going. Julia also had a great time riding with her friends. Maybe next time FG1 and me will ride the track. Dino thanks again for a great time with great people.

I had lots of fun! It was nice to be back on my old BMX bike from circa 2004-6. I Learned a very valuable lesson don't race with FullertonMikes Son unless you want to sample the dirt at the track! It really does make you think differently about line choice and the such. I didnt take any pictures because I was too busy falling! LOL. Thanks to those who took pictures.


Did a lap with dino and about half way through the track he yelled "pump only the rest" so I did that. Then as I am ready to pass him he yells "your cheating, your cheating!" I wasn't I was just pumping through the track better than he was! LOL.

I would def. Like to do this again, But If I make a habbit of this Im going to need a real bike! LOL.
