Talking Palm Springs - Dunn Road - Hahn Buena Vista - Cindy Whitehead

Each year, I find myself out in the desert for Thanksgiving since my parents have a house in Rancho Mirage. It is becoming a tradition to ride from my house to the trailhead in Cathedral City (approx. 6 miles each way). So...nonetheless, I decided to head out on this beautiful Thanksgiving Day. I started the ride with my pops to the gate of our country club and off I went. Of course the ride of Dunn Road was....well, relentlessly steep and loose for most of the time. After adjusting to the heat at Dunn's Desert Oasis, I was off to Hahn's. Although I had a blast... I found Hahn's to be a lot looser than usual. We really need some rain. After the glorius decent with the view of San Jacinto in the background, I reached the bottom of my journey to the valley floor. I then headed over to Cindy's (one of my most favorite trails in the Palm Springs area)... To my surprise, the trail looked to be unridden for a while. The brush was a little annoying, but after a short climb, I knew why I came this way After some nice chunk and tech sections, I was stoked and ready to eat some turkey. All in all, it was 27 miles w/ 3000' of climbing. What a great ride.... Here are some photos I took during my solo expedition. Tomorrow... Palm Canyon Epic Baby

Nice. I saw a weather report from LA basin and it was in the high 80's that means in most of been very warm in the desert. Here in Prescott got into maybe the mid 60's. Just they way I like it.

If I'm not lost or getting bushwhacked, the trail was too easy.

Don't worry Tom, he hasn't gone completely soft, I think it's only like 3 or 4 speed.

Tom... Not getting soft... Just a change in pace. It's not as easy as you think. I am running a 34 x 17-34. Dunn sucked....

When you exit the Cathedral Canyon trail that ends at Dunn Rd., you will see the entrance to CW directly across the fire road (look for the big horn sheep sign).
