Sorry no pics, but good group of us total 11 showed up at snow summit, the lift dudes were liberal in their inspecting. Alot of mtbers were out there. The trails were extremely loose, but there was some good jumps. I tasted the soil on a couple jumps. Good riding, and good looking out for each other. Thanks surelygirl and the rest of you all.

Me, my dad, JJ, and Andrew were there but we didn't stick around with the STR peeps and kinda did our own thing. We got 5 good runs in though, 2 runs down Falline, 2 runs down Pirates, and a run down this insanely loose/technical singletrack that we couldn't find on the map (we thought it was Dick's Trail).

Ya i saw some of you guys today, i was with garret and jj. First time at snow summit and it was amazing! We did fall line and pirate somthing. We wanted to go with you guys but we had never gone before, but we will go with you next time. The terrain was totally different than what i usuasly ride. It was really sandy, rocky, and fun.

Great day! I had the pleasure of riding with new peeps (well at least 1 run) and also taking a good friends son (9yr old) down the runs on his new setup. My day may not have been full of fast aggressive runs but was full of complete excitement to see how well Ian is riding his bike..
Kevin the excitement in your dads voice (even when he took the last run with us) is something I look froward to hearing in Neils voice once Maddie can *really* ride...All He kept saying was I wish Kevin was with us on this trail, I'd like to see him ride this...I'm sure we'll be riding with you both very soon ![]() Hooked up with a few peeps from Intense took 1 more run and called it a day... Sunday we'll be riding again.... It's getting looser with each week, but I look at it like training for Fontana next weekend ![]()

Lets ride down this....
Ortega Trail - The trail is all about going up! Its best suited for a day of technical challenges. Basically, who has the best skills and the most poop that day. It has lots of rocky technical sections, steep loose sections, and an occasional rattle snake. There is some shade about 1/3 the way up but no water anywhere. If you are having thoughts of cleaning the entire trail to the top of the ridge....think again!!! But when you've had enough uphill fun, turn around and enjoy a killer decent. Oh ya, this trail is open to motorcycles, so use caution. Although its open to motorcycles, there is very little evidence of their presence....the trail is not trashed. Ride rating: Expert Ride distance: 10 miles Elevation change: approx 3K Singletrack=100% |

Oh btw surlygal, We ended up taking that "really bad line" off of "benches" the first time.. It was really steep and loose but we rode it all the way down with out any problems. Got an ear full from a guy at the bottom but he politely informed us where we missed the turn. Did it the second time the right way.. Loved it. "benches" is my favorite line down from the top I would say. Really fast and techy with lots of baby drops all the way down.

Where is "benches" and what are some good trails to do next time? All we did was Pirates, Falline, and this really loose and steep trail that wasn't on the map (we got lost...)
