    Default RRR: Nacimiento/Ferguson Road

I had planned on riding the Coast Ridge Route (MTB) trail today but it looks like most of the Los Padres in the Big Sur Area is still closed from the fires.

So, I decide to climb Nacimiento/Ferguson Road to the top of the ridge.

    The start right off PCH.

Looks easy but it's actually about an 11% grade right here.

Breaking through the fog at about mile 3.

Looking down at fog shrouded Big Sur.

    Up, Up, Up.

    Halfway.

The upper section goes through Redwoods.

    The route: http://www.geoladders.com/show_route.php?route=17581

I highly recommend this one. Absolutely beautiful ride on a practically deserted road in Big Sur.

This is part of the route of the Big Sur Bike Ride which is normally held in late Sept. You hit the climb at mile 70 of the first day of the ride then end up at Fort Hunter Liggett to camp for the night at about mile 90.
    That is one hellava climb.

beeeyooootiful!! gibraltar & big sur in one week, you're killing me. i'll get mine next week as i'm driving up the coast to sf for a few days, with a bike and a bunch of windsurf gear. i was chompin at the bit all morning to get out and ride my road bike - for some reason it just looked like it wanted to be ridden vs. the ss - but alas i got stuck at home fixing the AC (air conditioning) unit. thanx for the nav file. is there any way to make a loop out of it and come down on a singletrack or fire road?
Skidagged, dinked, danked, gidagged, dooffed, banked - you name it, it's on there.
