Congrats to you elab on your 1st place! You should've introduced yourself to the crew. Sharky, Cdale and jeffj have tons of pics. I'm sure there is a few of you in there. Check their links. Here's one of me from Sharky's bunch. Thanks Chris!

Plenty of sandbagging going on in all classes. If you look at last years times, much slower in my age group of 40-44 sport:

19 01:29:42 Darin Tanikawa Sport 40-44 M Irvine

I finished 8th. My time was 1:16+, 11 min behind this years 1st place. Justin(mechmann) placed 4th in his class this year, would've taken 1st last year. If next year gets any faster, I'll may not make the top 10.

I was just wonderin that as well. Because their looks to be people entered in the Beginners class that I would not consider "beginner" . I may enter a race next year but I will go in the hardest class I can get, that way when I don't place I can say what class did you race in? I don't know but when people go into classes that they don't belong in they have everything to loose and nothing to gain. This is just my opinion. Its like that for any sports I guess.

well people r gonna try to make it sound sweet and all but it will not change the fact that sand bagging is like 80% why racing doesnt call me @ all. the other 20% maybe that I would have to work harder to be up there onthe top 100 so I dont!! who wants to work hard instead of having fun? call me crazy call me what ever!! just dont call me...

I'm glad everyone had a good time!!!

Dave, you can enter "expert" if you want, but you'll have to do 4 laps. I was spent after 3 laps which is "sport". I think the amount of laps you can do determines which class you will want to enter. I could do 4, but I probably would've died!

No, he didn't even check his time. I think his avg. lap time compared favorably to the times the PA guy gave out during the expert awards.

Aaron is just an animal on his bike. He does maybe 4-5 mtb rides per year but commutes on his road bike practically everyday. He said he would try expert if he decides to do more XC races.

This was the first regular XC race for both of us in about two years. I'm not quite as fast. Actually, I was kinda slow. 11th place (I think) out of 15 in 35-39 Sport.

We have competed in both 12 Hours of Temecula races (2 person Open) this year and are doing well as a team. We are currently in 2nd place for the series with 21 laps. Sho-Air is in 1st with 26 laps.

I think the longer days are more my forte. Aaron prefers the endurance type races too.

I'm interested in seeing the time results, whenever those get posted someone let us know

I was told the guy who won the beginner's class 19-24 finished pretty far ahead of everyone. That's frustrating as hell for anyone still new to the sport.
